Martina (12) y Sofía (15) son hermanas. Una calurosa mañana se levantan, desayunan en el patio de su casa y pasan todo el día allí, esperando una llamada telefónica.
Martina (12) and Sofía (15) are sisters, they wake up one very hot morning, they have breakfast in the patio, and they stay there all day watching TV. Their home is a mess, the kitchen is filthy, and they are filthy as well. They won’t answer the phone in the morning, when they should be at school. The girls anxiously await a phone call from their mother who lives abroad. There’s a growing tension between them, heightened by the crush they both have on their neighbor Diego (21), the only person that shows them any affection. The phone rings, and both fight to pick it up, while the rain starts to pour over them. It’s not their mother. Sofía confesses to Martina that their mother has already called, while they quietly sit and watch the rain fall on the patio’s floor.
